Branding Session Tips & Tricks
lighting
Lighting sets the stage for your session. While there are many factors that contribute to great photography, none is more important than lighting.
Consider yourself the main character of your story. Consider lighting to be your bestie. Your bestie is your hype girl, the one on set telling you to turn your face towards the window cause your skin is glowing. The one whispering that joke in your ear, you know the one that makes you laugh and shows off that picture perfect smile. Your bestie (lighting), impacts everything from how you are portrayed as the main character, to the colors and textures of your scene, to the mood of your overall story.
What type of story are you trying to tell with your session? If you are here, chances are you’re interested in something energetic, something with personality, something uniquely YOU. You want bright, clean, crisp images that showcase your best features.
Once we’ve secured a date and time, selecting a perfect location that has a guarantee we tell your very best story.
location
Set the scene! Think about your overall aesthetic when choosing the location for your shoot. Does the aesthetic of the location align with the identity of your brand? Does the location set the stage for the story you are hoping to tell with your session?

hair & makeup
Hair and makeup can drastically elevate a branding session.
Put your best face forward! Prioritizing your hair and makeup for your shoot will make you look and feel amazing and that confidence will shine through in your photos. Investing a little extra time and effort into your look will ensure you look just a beautiful at the end of your session as you did at the start! A little extra makeup will create an added layer of dimension and add visual interest in your photos too! For most of us, it’s not every day we’re behind the camera, so on the day of your shoot - ditch your every day makeup and have a little fun elevating your look!
outfits
For outfit selection think about your brand, what will represent you best, and look cohesive on your website, socials, and print collateral. Think ahead about the time of year you will be using these in. If you are shooting in summer and using the imagery for fall you will want to think about Fall + Winter clothing vs. Summer options. Pops of color are A MUST for one outfit selection. Color does so much for a photo.
